Getting Started

SpiderRock Connect Desktop App

Introducing SpiderRock Connect

Welcome to SpiderRock Connect (aka SRConnect, Version 8, or V8), the most recent version of the SpiderRock trading platform running in next-generation data centers proximity-located to exchange matching engines. SpiderRock Connect includes several major new features, including a new ATS, a new API for sending and receiving live data objects called MLink, and re-imagined tools that can be accessed via the web or desktop application. The popular SRSE/SQL API has also been upgraded, optimized and rebuilt while the classic Citrix-accessed tools are still available.

If a client firm wants to use the SpiderRock system, but is not yet a known entity, contact our Sales department to learn more.

Obtaining Credentials

If a user does not already have SpiderRock login credentials, but their firm has been onboarded with SpiderRock, they can obtain credentials by contacting the SpiderRock Client Support Desk.

Find our contact details here.

Once a user has been created within the SpiderRock system, they will be able to choose the type of system access that works best for them and obtain access credentials for.

Set Up MFA

Please note that some of the provided instructions will reference MFA. Instructions on how to set-up MFA are included in materials provided during the onboarding process. If you need further assistance regarding MFA, please reach out to our Client Support Desk.

Accessing SpiderRock Connect / SpiderRock ATS:

SpiderRock Connect can be accessed either via a web browser at https://spiderrockconnect.com/home OR by our SpiderRock Connect desktop application which can be downloaded here:

If you have a pre-existing log-in with SpiderRock, please enter those same log-in details when prompted. Otherwise, follow the instructions below to gain access:

  1. Users should contact the SpiderRock Client Support Desk to create a unique SpiderRock ID and generate an invitation that will be sent to that user’s email address.
  2. Upon receiving the email, the user will follow the link provided to complete their registration.
  3. Once redirected to your browser of choice, a login prompt will appear. The username field should already be filled with the username associated with your user in SpiderRock’s system.
  4. Insert the password that would have been established with SpiderRock during the onboarding process.
  5. Choose your verification method of choice. Verifying with an authentication app is recommended and these instructions will follow that workflow. If you choose to verify with a phone text, follow the prompts given.
  6. Enter your authentication code and click continue.
  7. After completing these steps, the user will be placed on the new Launcher browser page where they can launch any tools they have been configured to access.

For additional assistance on your log-in information or difficulties with the Documentation site’s download, contact us for SpiderRock Client Support Desk. If assistance is needed with the Tool Suite’s installer, contact your IT department or the SpiderRock Client Support Desk depending on the nature of the issue.

Accessing Legacy Tools (through Citrix):

The SpiderRock Client Support Desk will generate a password for the user, which will be sent via secure PDF.

Users can access legacy tools through Citrix by logging in at https://sms.spiderrock.net/vpn/index.html.

Accessing SRSE:

Users can access SRSE via a database client on their computer, an established cross connect, or by VPN access. Using the credentials they have been provided, users must connect via the public SRSE endpoints.

Users should contact the SpiderRock Client Support Desk to either have a unique password generated for them or to select a specific password they would like. An existing SpiderRock ID will be needed in order to use the password. If an existing ID does not exist, users will have to contact the SpiderRock Client Support Desk in order to create one.

Accessing SpiderRock via APIs:

Users can access the SpiderRock system in several programmatic ways using APIs.

Testing and Using the Sandbox

SpiderRock Connect provides access to a test environment called the Sandbox. In this environment, there are pre-loaded datasets to help users test connection and applications in a predictable, safe environment with no risk of reaching the outside markets. To connect to the Sandbox, follow the instructions on our V8 Sandboxes here.
